2005     Hurricane Katrina  9/2005

9/ 2005 Hurricane Katrina was a category 4 event @4:44 pm. It destroyed

parts of  the Gulf Coast Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. 9-9-05

On  9-9-05 Dr. Ange and staff delivered approximately 10,000 lbs of supplies, medical and

food from Dayton, OH to Pearl River County Hospital in Popularville, Mississippi and

Memorial Hospital in Picayune Mississippi. This was a distance of 900 miles and required

the efforts of approximately 2,500 people. Out of the experience, a short book

Four Days Later, was written by Dr. Ange as a summary of her trip.

2006      Operation Home Town Troops  12/2006

9/2006  Operation Project “Home Town Troops” was started originally to send 100 Christmas Boxes to locally deployed troops in Iraq. Because of all the people it quickly became a humanitarian airlift to Bagdad. The supplies filled a freight container loaded with 37,500 lbs. on a non-stop cargo jet at WPAFB on Christmas Eve and arrived Christmas day. It took involvement from the U.N., D.O.D., State Dept., D.O.T., and Bagdad, Iraq.

About that experience, Dr. Ange wrote a short book entitled “Home Town Troops: A

Humanitarian airlift to Bagdad and Iraq”.. Supplies went to Operation Crayon, Afghanistan,

and 4 dogs. We know the kids especially enjoyed the chocolates and shoes (10,000 pairs).
